Personal Training

Personal training involves a 1 – 2 – 1 session, or a block booking of multiple sessions with myself. Initially I will ask you to fill out a medical questionnaire and a goal setting form to gather as much information as possible; from this I will design a programme that is specific to you and your goals. During each session we will progress through the programme and ensure that you are confident in what you have to do.

Strength and Conditioning is for athletes looking to increase their performance. Your sport could be anything, from rugby and football to tennis and golf. When designing a strength and conditioning programme for a particular sport, it’s important to build a programme that strengthens the body’s movements in that particular sport. Depending on your goals, we can start with a 6 week programme followed by regular updates, or a block booking of sessions.

Nutrition is a vital aspect of any programme.  Without changes to your diet, achieving your individual goals can be made more challenging.  For example, each goal, whether it is losing body fat, gaining muscle or both you will need a specific nutrition plan to assist and support your physical transformation and ultimately, your health.  This may only mean fine-tuning a few details, such as eating times, intervals between meals, macro nutrient ratios (carbohydrate: fat: protein).  Whatever the physical goal, nutrition needs to be taken into account.  After all, diet is 70-80% of the equation

Kettlebell Instruction: I realise that a lot of people these days are starting to use kettlebells as part of their training regime, but what I have found is that they are being used badly with poor form and technique so the full benefit of using kettlebells is being neglected and the risk of injury increased. They are an excellent tool for functional training targeting both the cardio vascular system and targeting a large range of muscle groups all at the same time, to sum up using kettlebells if you combined your normal resistance workout and cardio into one, that’s kettlebells!

What I offer as part of my personal training services is 1-2-1 tuition in using kettlebells to their full potential and safe guarding yourself against injury. This service can be booked as a one of session, or multiple sessions depending on how competent you are in using kettlebells, but I can advise on this after an initial assessment.
